hiPSC Modeling of NF1 High-Grade Glioma

This project aims to generate models of malignant brain tumors (gliomas) seen in adults with NF1. Using human cells with the capacity to form every cell type in the brain, they will introduce the mutations found in these cancers. Leveraging their prior experience with NF1 low-grade glioma modeling, Corina Anastasaki, PhD, Research Assistant Professor in Neurology, and David H. Gutmann, MD, PhD, the Donald O. Schnuck Family Professor and Director of the Washington University NF Center, aim to create more accurate preclinical platforms to identify and test promising therapies for these deadly brain tumors.
